Rom 5:1-5  Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  2  through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  3  And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  4  and perseverance, character; and character, hope.  5  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

We must comprehend that we have a chosen path, by God, a walk that the Lord has laid before each of us that is intricately designed by heaven to bring us into maturity in love.

Justification is the proclamation of innocence by God over your life. Rather than simply being forgiven we are ones who have been acquitted and declared innocent by the blood of Christ.  This is a monumental truth, one that we must take time to meditate on and allow it to change our minds and our emotions.

THE CONCEPT OF JUSTIFICATION – THE PROCLAMATION OF OUR INNOCENCE

The word ‘justify’, shows up in the Scripture about 50 times.  1/3rd of those are in the book of Romans.

The Greek term that we translate justify – is a legal term that was used in Roman courts of law to describe that an individual had been acquitted of the crimes that they were accused of. It was a proclamation of innocence over the accused.
